THE
THERESIAN TRUST
![]()
The
Theresian Trust was founded by Maurice and
Christine Frost in 1984 to promote the teaching
and example of St. Therese of Lisieux and the life
and ideals of the Martin family. The Trust was
first established in Kent and in 1987 the
Theresian Centre was opened in Birmingham,
England. In 1997 it was transferred to Ireland
and is now situated at
Hampton, Gracepark Road,
Dublin 9, adjoining the Carmelite Monastery. It
is in a part of the building known as Hampton
Hermitage which has four prayer rooms that cater
for individual and group needs.
The
Trust provides a Theresian Resource Centre which
includes an extensive reference library and a
lending library together with display books ad
other items concerning St. Therese and her family
and Carmelite life. Also there is a Theresian
Oratory with a shrine to St. Therese and prayer
requests can be placed in an envelope in front of
her statue.
Those wishing to pray or study the life and
teaching of St. Therese are welcome to make use of
the facilities. Videos on St. Therese and
Carmelite life can be viewed by appointment.
There is a small shop where books, cards and
cassette tapes on the life and teaching of St.
Therese are offered for sale together with some
repository items.
The
most important book is 'Story of a Soul'
(translated by John Clarke, O.C.D. published by
I.C.S.) This is St. Therese's own account of her
life, originally published as her obituary and now
translated into over sixty languages. Her
letters, poems, prayers and last conversations
have also been translated into English and are
available from the shop.
